Community Feature: Lake Bonavista
Say hello to Lake Bonavista, one of Calgary’s most popular and sought after neighbourhoods in the city’s southeast. Located along Macleod Trail and Bow Bottom Trail, it doesn’t take long to get to this community from anywhere in the city, and the commute into downtown or out of town is a breeze. This community was the first community to be built around a man-made lake in all of Canada, so we like to think it’s pretty special. With skating, fires, and curling in the winter, and kayaking, swimming and fishing in the summer, the lake is a big hit. Lake Bonavista is across the street from Southcentre Mall, one of the city’s most popular malls for major retailers, restaurants and events. Also located along Fish Creek Provincial Park, this community has plenty of natural green spaces and walking paths to keep you feeling energized and one with nature.
